In the municipal cemetery of San José Agua Azul in Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato, a tragic event occurred when armed individuals stormed during a burial and shot at the attendees. As a result of this attack, at least seven people lost their lives, one woman and six men, in addition to two individuals who were seriously injured.
The municipal government of Apaseo el Grande confirmed this unfortunate incident and mentioned that the injured were transferred to nearby hospitals, although no specific information was provided regarding the number of injured. Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants fled towards the Pan-American highway.
Subsequently, authorities discovered a dark-colored van abandoned under a bridge on the side towards Apaseo el Grande. It is presumed that this vehicle was used by the perpetrators of the attack, who have still not been captured.
